A fire broke out in an abandoned building, causing one civilian injury. The incident mobilized operatives from the two fire brigades in the city, who intervened quickly at the scene.
The prompt intervention of the firefighters allowed them to quickly contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring buildings, thus avoiding greater consequences.
The civilian injured was assisted at the scene by rescue services and later taken to Hospital de S. Pedro, part of the Local Health Unit of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro.
