The Federal Police launched an operation to investigate the financing of the film Dark Horse, a production inspired by the life of former President Jair Bolsonaro. A total of 49 search and seizure warrants were executed in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, and the Federal District. No arrest warrants were issued. The action was carried out jointly with the Comptroller General's Office.
The investigations examine suspected embezzlement of public funds from parliamentary amendments. According to the PF, the inquiries point to the existence of a criminal organization formed by public and private agents, suspected of directing funds to subcontracted companies irregularly, without proof of the contracted services being provided. The attempts to conceal the embezzlement reportedly extended until July of this year.
Among the main targets of the operation are the film's producer, Karina Gama, and federal deputy Mario Frias, from PL-SP, as well as other individuals not specified in the article. The investigation is under the responsibility of Minister Flávio Dino.
