Cilia Flores, 69 years old and wife of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, requested house arrest in New York, claiming to be suffering from serious health problems. According to the defense, she reported chest pain, arrhythmias, and breathing difficulties since her detention.
Maduro's wife stated she has lost more than 11 kilos since her detention. American authorities have not yet commented on this request for house arrest for medical reasons.
Cilia Flores was detained in the United States as part of the investigations related to Nicolás Maduro's regime. The case occurs at a time of diplomatic tension between the United States and Venezuela.
