The Federal Police and the Office of the Comptroller General carried out on Thursday (10) Operation Dark Horse, with 49 search and seizure warrants issued by the Supreme Federal Court. The action takes place in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Ceará, and the Federal District and investigates the financing of the film Dark Horse, a production inspired by the life of former President Jair Bolsonaro.
The authorities are investigating suspected embezzlement of public funds from parliamentary amendments. According to the PF, the investigations indicate the existence of a criminal organization formed by public and private agents, suspected of directing funds to subcontracted companies irregularly, without proof of services rendered.
The attempts to conceal the embezzlement reportedly continued until July of this year. Among the main targets of the operation are the film's producer, Karina Gama, and federal deputy Mario Frias (PL-SP), among other investigated individuals.
