During a speech at the Republican convention for the United States midterm elections, President Donald Trump threatened to attack Pickaxe Mountain, in Iran, which is suspected of housing an underground nuclear complex. He stated he was monitoring activities at the site and declared that it might be necessary to carry out an assault against the facility.
Pickaxe Mountain is located near the Natanz nuclear complex, situated 225 kilometers south of Tehran, which has already been targeted by American attacks in the past. Trump mentioned that he received information about movements at the site and considered the possibility of military action.
American intelligence has been analyzing the mountain for several months and considers it highly likely that Iran is developing a nuclear program at the site. A report by the Center for Strategic and International Studies showed an increase in construction and work in the region.
Trump concluded his speech by saying that the United States does not need many resources to act, as they have monitoring capability that allows them to see everything that happens at the facility.
