Italy inaugurated a new museum at the Baths of Trajan, located on the Oppian Hill, in Rome. The museum was created to house and preserve two important ancient works of art: the Great Mosaic and the Painted City.
Visitors to the new museum will now be able to admire these historical pieces, which for a long time were not accessible to the public. The opening to the public represents an important milestone in the enhancement of the archaeological heritage of the Italian capital.
However, visits will be limited to a reduced number of people per day, a measure taken to ensure the protection and conservation of these ancient works, which are particularly sensitive to wear and tear caused by the presence of large groups of tourists.
