A mother launches 'The Last Photo' campaign to prevent suicide

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General10 September 2026 at 10:54

The "Hablar Salva" initiative launched this Thursday the "La Última Foto" campaign to prevent suicide and promote that society learns to ask, listen, and talk about this problem. The campaign was driven by Vicky Nieto, mother of a young man who died by suicide at the age of 24.

Vicky Nieto denounced the absence of a major institutional campaign aimed at the entire population to address this issue. Through the "La Última Foto" campaign, the initiative aims to raise awareness in society about the importance of communicating and being alert to warning signs.

The campaign is part of the organization's efforts to reduce suicide rates and create a space for dialogue about mental health. The main objective is to teach people to ask questions, genuinely listen, and maintain open conversations about the topic of suicide.
