Manuel Luís Goucha, Portuguese presenter, spoke about his experience with depression in an interview included in the project "Together Against Depression." During this conversation, he revealed concrete examples of how he lived through this difficult phase of his life.
According to what he explained, it was during the night that everything got worse for him, as he was afraid of the silence of the night. The dark hours became particularly difficult to endure.
To help get through those hours, a friend would call him and stay on the phone for several hours, until the first rays of morning began to appear. This constant support from his friend was essential to accompany him through the most difficult nights.
The interview comes within the scope of the project "Together Against Depression," which aims to raise awareness and combat the stigma surrounding depression.
