The Venezuelan government plans to recover part of the Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetía, in Caracas, in early 2027. The information was provided by the Venezuelan authorities responsible for managing the infrastructure.
The authorities highlighted that the damage to the airport is high and requires "very important" and lengthy works for its recovery. This situation explains the extended deadline foreseen for the completion of the rehabilitation works.
Despite the time needed for the repairs, the Venezuelan government guaranteed that the airport will be "much better" after the completion of the recovery works.
