The Aveiro Federation of Socialist Youth promotes, on September 26th, the first edition of the Academia Manuel Alegre. The initiative takes place at the Municipal Library Manuel Alegre, in Águeda, and proposes a day of reflection, training and participation around memory, culture and democracy.
The event takes place in the city of Águeda and aims to bring together young people to discuss themes related to the legacy of Manuel Alegre, a prominent figure in Portuguese culture and politics. The Academy intends to be a space for political and cultural training dedicated to memory and democratic values.
The choice of Águeda to host this first edition is not casual, since the Municipal Library Manuel Alegre constitutes a symbol of the poet and politician's connection to the region. This academy marks the beginning of a project that may continue in future editions.
