The College of Presidents of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) decided to ask the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, to disclose the investigation records of Banco Master. The measure aims to bring transparency to the inquiry amid the crisis involving the court.
The proposal, presented by the president of the OAB, Beto Simonetti, provides for the creation of a commission formed by the presidents of the OAB's sectional branches and by jurists to analyze the information about the authorities cited in the case, including ministers of the STF itself.
Simonetti stated that he believes Fachin will accept the request, given the public pressure over the case. The president of the STF convened the court's plenary to analyze the Federal Police reports on the alleged relationship between Justice Alexandre de Moraes and businessman Ronald Ferreira, known as "Vorcaro."
According to Simonetti, the OAB hopes to uncover the doubts of Brazilian society about whether or not authorities of the Republic participated in the investigations. He argued that the OAB should lead civil society at this moment, approaching the STF with respect to seek answers.
