The Azores delegation of the National Association of Parishes (ANAFRE) claimed the maintenance of nine million euros for Azorean parishes in the years 2027 and 2028. This position was defended today by the association that represents the parishes.
ANAFRE also revealed that it demands an increase in the funds destined for the eco-parishes program. This program aims to support environmental initiatives in local municipalities of the Azores.
Regarding the year 2026, the association explained that it was understanding towards the Regional Government, justifying that the option taken at that time went through the execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).
The association now awaits a response from the regional executive to its claims, which include not only the maintenance of funding but also the reinforcement of support for sustainability projects in the parishes.
