The firefighters from Guarda are advocating for lower fuel prices, alerting to the impact that rising fuel prices has on their work. The president of the Guarda District Firefighters Federation states that "firefighters cannot stop responding because fuel prices increase," emphasizing that this is an unsustainable situation for the fire brigades.
The federation points out that the support currently given to firefighting associations in the municipality of Guarda is not sufficient to cope with the increase in fuel costs. This situation directly affects the response capacity of the fire brigades to emergencies.
The firefighters continue to advocate for the need for measures that guarantee more affordable fuel prices, in order to ensure the continuity of the emergency service provided to the population of the Guarda region.
