The vice-president of the Beja Municipal Council, Liliana Cabecinha, elected by the PSD on the lists of the Beja Consegue movement, announced yesterday the suspension of her mandate as councilor. This decision marks a change in the composition of the executive of the Alentejo city council. Liliana Cabecinha was one of the prominent figures in the municipal leadership, representing the coalition that governs the municipality. The suspension of the mandate means that the councilor will temporarily cease to exercise her municipal functions, but apparently maintains her position as vice-president, since the communication refers specifically to the suspension of the councilor's mandate and not the position of vice-president. João Silva, current head of the presidency support office, will be the substitute for Liliana Cabecinha in the municipal executive. This official, who until now performed direct support functions for the presidency, thus assumes a place as councilor, joining the team that governs the municipality of Beja.
