Supreme Court (STF) President Edson Fachin announced this Wednesday (9) a "package" of decisions that represents two harsh setbacks for Justice Alexandre de Moraes. The decisions mark a significant shift in the composition and distribution of cases within the Court.
Alexandre de Moraes lost the rapporteurship of the fake news investigation, one of the most sensitive and debated investigations at the Court. This loss represents a blow to his position within the tribunal, since the investigation dealt with delicate themes related to freedom of expression and disinformation.
In addition, Moraes found himself confronted with the scheduling of a trial for next Tuesday (15). In that trial, the Federal Police report that investigated the messages exchanged between Moraes and the owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, will be analyzed—a document considered explosive by the report.
