Fux gives 15 days for government, BC and FGC to respond to DF's request for guarantees on loan to save BRB

STF Minister Luiz Fux granted a 15-day deadline for the Union, the Central Bank (BC) and the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC) to respond to the request from the Federal District Government (GDF) for the Supreme Court to compel the federal government to grant a guarantee on the loan intended to save the Bank of Brasília (BRB). The order was signed by Fux on Wednesday.

The request was filed by the GDF with the STF on the 3rd. The measure was taken after the Ministry of Finance refused a meeting request from the district government to discuss the credit operation.

On August 20, the governor of the DF, Celina Leão (PP), had requested a meeting with Dario Durigan to continue negotiations on structuring the credit operation, whose format was defined in a conciliation hearing between the Union and the local government at the STF in May.

Under the agreement defined in the conciliation hearing, the loan would be guaranteed by a group of banks, which would have the FGC's receipt flow as counter-guarantee.
