Hospital de Guimarães, through ULS Alto Ave, held a meeting dedicated to future mothers to mark World Pregnant Women's Day. The initiative took place during the afternoon, starting at 3:00 PM, and brought together pregnant women for a program designed to clarify doubts, reinforce knowledge and present the services offered by the Vimaranense maternity ward.
The program included several informative sessions on topics related to pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. Among the topics covered was colostrum harvesting before birth, in a session titled "Drops of Gold," and the importance of movement during labor, under the theme "Between Rhythms and Contractions." The initiative also featured a raffle, a guided tour of the maternity ward and a moment of socializing between participants and health professionals.
ULS Alto Ave highlighted that it intends to "celebrate the life that grows," valuing "the strength, love and transformation that each pregnancy carries." The institution also emphasized the importance of accompanying future mothers through all stages of pregnancy, ensuring they feel "safe, heard and supported."
World Pregnant Women's Day is observed annually on September 9th and aims to raise awareness about the importance of care during gestation, promoting the well-being of mother and baby and valuing the role of maternity in society.
