Municipality supports firefighters with 46 thousand euros for new ambulance

A Voz de Trás-os-Montes9 September 2026 at 16:19

The municipality approved support of 46 thousand euros for the firefighters for the acquisition of a new ambulance. The protocol for granting this support was signed on September 3rd by the mayor, Guilherme Pires, and by the vice-president of the association's board, Carlos Ferreira.

The new vehicle replaces the ambulance that ensured the functions of a Medical Emergency Station, serving the Integrated Medical Emergency System. According to what the commander of the corporation, Carlos Gomes, explained to VTM, the replacement was necessary because the previous vehicle was already at the age limit.

Carlos Gomes stated that the replaced ambulance had eight years of service, and the renewal was required by the protocol established with INEM. The responsible for the corporation confirmed that the replacement was a necessity to maintain the quality of the emergency medical service provided to the population.
