Egypt, Greece and Cyprus support plan to bring Cypriot gas to Europe

Egypt, Greece and Cyprus expressed joint support for a plan to export Cypriot natural gas to Europe. The gas, known as Cronos Gas, is expected to reach the European market through Egypt from 2028.

Greece will play a linking role, allowing Cypriot gas to reach southeast and central Europe. Egypt will serve as a corridor for the transportation of the energy resource.

The three countries reaffirmed this commitment during a summit held in El Alamein. Cooperation between the three nations aims to diversify Europe's energy sources and reduce dependence on other suppliers.
