Alto Minho TV9 September 2026 at 14:38

The municipalities of Ponte de Lima, Arcos de Valdevez, Ponte da Barca and Viana do Castelo have joined forces once again to submit a joint bid for the 2027 Wine City, reinforcing the commitment to the valorization and promotion of the territory, its identity, heritage, gastronomy and wine-making tradition.

The bid, submitted to the Portuguese Wine Municipalities Association (AMPV), aims to position Vale do Lima as a wine and wine tourism territory, with particular emphasis on the Loureiro grape variety, one of the greatest wine references and a distinctive element of the region's identity.

The election for the 2027 Wine City will take place at the AMPV Intermunicipal Assembly, on September 12, at 4:00 PM, in Vidigueira.

The joint bid reflects the will of the four municipalities to work in a network and to project Vale do Lima, nationally and internationally, through the valorization of wine, gastronomy, culture and landscape.
