Fuel price hikes: 'I find it difficult that the Government will change its strategy'

Now9 September 2026 at 15:21

The rise in fuel prices continues to be a growing concern, with Diana Ramos highlighting the difficulty in anticipating changes in the Government's strategy regarding this issue. The specialist underlined that the evolution of fuel prices has a direct impact on the cost of living of citizens.

With regard to the European economy, Diana Ramos highlighted that inflation continues to pressure the European Central Bank's actions. This pressure forces the European Central Bank to be more cautious in the formulation of benchmark interest rates, as raising interest rates could curb economic growth, while maintaining low interest rates could further exacerbate inflation.

The analyst considered it difficult that the Government will alter its current strategy in relation to fuels, suggesting that the measures adopted so far should remain unchanged in the near future. This position reflects the complexity of balancing economic interests with the needs of the population.
