NEW SECTION OF IP8 BETWEEN RELVAS VERDES AND RONCÃO IS NOW IN OPERATION

The new section of Primary Itinerary 8 (IP8), which connects Relvas Verdes and Roncão, came into operation on Tuesday. The road is located in the municipality of Santiago do Cacém.

This section represents an investment of 44.9 million euros. The infrastructure aims to improve connectivity in the southern region of the country.

IP8 is an important route that crosses the Alentejo Litoral, facilitating access between various towns in the area. The opening of this new section follows a period of construction works.

Local authorities consider this work relevant for the development of the region's road infrastructure, contributing to better mobility between the affected municipalities.

Portuguese DeepNeuronic bought by Motorola Solutions

The Portuguese DeepNeuronic, an artificial intelligence startup founded five years ago in Covilhã by Vasco Lopes and Bruno Degardin, was acquired by Motorola Solutions. The company developed software that converts ordinary cameras into real-time video analysis systems, technology already used in airports, bridges, highways, and other infrastructure in Portugal and Brazil. The team of 17 people will transition to Motorola Solutions, remaining in Covilhã, and the technology will be integrated into the Avigilon video security platform, available to customers in more than 100 countries. The value of the operation was not disclosed.
