Portuguese DeepNeuronic bought by Motorola Solutions

Eco9 September 2026 at 15:04

The Portuguese DeepNeuronic, an artificial intelligence company that develops software to convert ordinary cameras into real-time analysis systems, was acquired by Motorola Solutions. The value of the operation was not disclosed. The startup was established five years ago by Vasco Lopes and Bruno Degardin, and its technology analyzes images at the moment they are captured by cameras, interpreting the context of each situation and transforming video into immediate operational information.

The company based in Covilhã currently operates in airports, bridges, highways, fuel stations, industrial units, and commercial spaces, with clients in Portugal and Brazil, where it has a subsidiary. DeepNeuronic's technology allows monitoring mobility and security operations.

With this acquisition, the company becomes part of Motorola Solutions' network, which has been strengthening its portfolio of critical communications, video, and access control through acquisitions. The developed technology will be incorporated into Avigilon, Motorola Solutions' video security platform, available to a customer base spanning more than 100 countries.

The startup's team of 17 people transitions to Motorola Solutions, remaining in Covilhã with part of the team working remotely. Since its founding in 2021, DeepNeuronic has raised more than 2.5 million euros from business angels and venture capital funds, and has some projects funded by European funds.
