EY Law announced on September 9 the hiring of lawyers Nuno Lima da Luz and Helder M. Mourato as associate partners. Nuno Lima da Luz arrives from Cuatrecasas to coordinate the Digital Law team and will consolidate and develop the Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice, focusing on data protection, cybersecurity, e-commerce, Web3, tokenization and cryptoassets. Hélder Mourato joins the M&A and Finance & Projects teams, led by Sara Reis and Bruno Azevedo Rodrigues, respectively, focusing on investment, acquisition and financing operations in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

Managing partner João Nóbrega stated that these hires follow EY Law's strategy of investing in professionals with experience, specialization and excellent track records, capable of taking on leadership responsibilities and immediately strengthening the firm's response capacity. The manager also highlighted that the Digital Law and TMT area has been reinforced at a senior level.

EY Law, officially established at the end of 2024, currently has around fifty professionals across its multidisciplinary teams, having also integrated six new associate lawyers from this month onwards. Miguel Farinha, country managing partner of EY Portugal, Angola and Mozambique, commented that these hires confirm the ambition to continue strengthening the capacity to respond to clients' most complex challenges, consolidating EY's position in the Portuguese market.
