European Commission "ambitious" in wanting to clarify short-term rental rules, but fails in the proposal

The Short-Term Rental Association in Portugal (ALEP) reacted to the European Commission's proposal to clarify short-term rental rules, considering the objective ambitious, but criticizing the lack of clarity in the proposal presented. ALEP expressed support for the European Commission's intention to clarify the rules to regulate short-term rental, but considered that the proposal is not sufficiently clarifying. The organization represented Portugal in the evaluation of the new European initiative. Regarding the Portuguese context, ALEP stated that the legislation currently in force in the country already incorporates some of the principles advocated by the Commission, which constitutes a positive aspect for the national sector.
