Benfica has once again criticized the process of centralization of the audiovisual rights of Portuguese football. Nuno Catarino, vice-president of the board of directors of Benfica SAD and the club, expressed this position on Monday.
According to Catarino, the process of centralization of television rights "has flaws, is anachronistic and is inadequate". The official did not specify what changes the club wishes to see implemented.
The issue of centralization of television rights has been a matter of debate among Portuguese clubs, with different positions on how the rights should be managed and distributed. Benfica has been one of the most critical voices regarding this model.
