Apple's foldable phone will be called iPhone Duo and will hit stores in October

oglobo9 September 2026 at 12:08

Apple will launch its foldable phone this Wednesday at an event in Cupertino, California, starting at 2 PM (Brazil time). The device will be called iPhone Duo and will be available in white and dark blue colors, hitting stores in October.

The starting price will be $2,000 for the version with 256 gigabytes of storage, making it more expensive than competing models from Samsung and other companies. Versions with higher capacity will be available for around $3,000, aligning with Apple's goal of using premium components in the product.

Traditionally, foldable phones have not sold well and have disadvantages such as shorter battery life, inferior cameras and the visible crease on the screen when open. However, technology and supply chains have evolved, which may change this scenario.

The interruption is a traditional Apple practice, as the company usually takes the site down before presentations to prepare the catalog with the new products.
