The municipality of Chaves organized, together with the School of Hospitality and Well-being, the School of Education of the Polytechnic University of Bragança and the AquaValor Collaborative Laboratory, an initiative under the theme "Education in (Trans)formation: Neuroscience, Intelligence and Innovation". The event aimed to bring scientific knowledge closer to educational practices.
The president of the Provisional Commission of the School of Hospitality and Well-being, Maria José Alves, considered that the central issue is finding the balance in the use of artificial intelligence. In statements to VTM, she stated that she is an advocate that AI is a reality and that it is necessary to learn to use it.
According to Maria José Alves, the technology can bring concrete benefits to students. In her experience, there are students who, through AI, improved their abilities, namely because it helps them comprehend, memorize and consolidate information.
The responsible also identified the attention of new generations as one of the main concerns. Maria José Alves recognized that the capacity of young people to remain concentrated working on the same subject for some time is difficult.
