Guimarães received on Thursday, September 10, the first presence of the Academy of Diplomacy in the city, with a solemn session for the inauguration of new members held at Paço dos Duques de Bragança. The event, scheduled for 6:00 PM, brought together more than a dozen ambassadors and diplomatic representatives, assuming particular relevance within the scope of the rapprochement between Guimarães and the diplomatic community.
The session featured the presence of the President of the Academy of Diplomacy, Santiago Velo de Antelo, and the Head of the Delegation of the Academy of Diplomacy in Portugal, Jorge Antas de Barros, among other personalities from the diplomatic and institutional sphere. The program included the inauguration ceremony of the new members, followed by a period of interventions and a standing dinner at 7:00 PM, providing a moment of socializing and networking between the diplomatic representatives and local entities.
The Academy of Diplomacy is dedicated to the study and analysis of topics of historical, cultural, economic and political interest related to the diplomatic world. The institution promotes conferences, courses and seminars, seeking to contribute to the knowledge and reflection on international relations and the role of diplomacy.
