The Lamego Nucleus of Liga dos Combatentes celebrated its 102nd anniversary on Sunday with a ceremony honoring the dead fallen for the Homeland. The event aimed to keep alive in collective memory the supreme sacrifice of those who gave their lives. Liga dos Combatentes is an organization that represents and defends the interests of former Portuguese combatants, as well as the memory of those who perished in armed conflicts. This annual celebration is a tradition that reinforces the commitment to honor those who served and died for the country.

We cannot continue to ignore the country's exposure to seismic phenomena, says Pinto Luz

The Portuguese Government is creating a system for continuous monitoring of the country's infrastructure, using technologies such as satellite images, after the January storms. The Minister of Infrastructure, Miguel Pinto Luz, stated in the National Resilience Commission that "we cannot continue to ignore the country's exposure to seismic phenomena". LNEC has already carried out 54 inspections of roads and railways, and Infraestruturas de Portugal has inspected 1,400 works of art. The report on the state of critical infrastructure will be presented between the end of this month and the beginning of the next. The minister stressed that information on vulnerabilities is sensitive and cannot be fully public. The PTRR plan, approved in June, provides for an investment of 22.6 billion euros for reconstruction and risk prevention.
