The Court of Auditors gave its approval for the purchase of 13.7% of REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais) by the Portuguese State, through the public company Parpública. This approval allows the operation to proceed as planned.
The operation is valued at approximately 380 million euros, representing a significant investment by the State in the national energy networks company.
With this purchase, the Portuguese State becomes the second largest shareholder of REN, strengthening its position in the national energy sector.
The largest shareholder of REN continues to be the Chinese company State Grid, which maintains leadership in the capital of the Portuguese energy networks company.
