Machico once again hosted the Madeira SwimRun, a competition integrated into the National Circuit and the 2026 Regional SwimRun Championship, which brought together dozens of regional, national and international athletes.
In the standard doubles race, the big winners in the mixed teams category were João Sousa and Sandra Góis, representing Grupo Desportivo Corticeiras/G-CET. Second place was taken by Rubina Gouveia and André Ferreira, from Ludens Machico-Hospital Particular da Madeira, while the third place finishers were the Azoreans Joana and Carlos Mota.
