The Music Service of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is celebrating at the beginning of this season the living centenary of two contemporary composers, György Kurtág and Betsy Jolas. Both musicians have reached the milestone of 100 years of age and continue to be active.

György Kurtág is a Hungarian composer recognized for his chamber music and experimental compositions. Betsy Jolas is a French composer of American origin who has stood out in contemporary music. Both are important figures in the musical landscape of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Gulbenkian is promoting a concert cycle to mark this special occasion. Access for spectators is free, allowing the public to discover and appreciate the work of these two centenarian composers.
