Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska stated on Tuesday that the report prepared by his department about journalists has "no ulterior motive." The statement comes in response to the criticism received for the creation of this list.
According to Marlaska, the document corresponds to an internal working text of the ministry. The objective would be to know what is being said about the actions and activities of the department regarding security matters.
The minister defended the legality and transparency of the report, emphasizing that it is a customary tool for monitoring information and not any type of surveillance or persecution of media professionals.
