The Union of Social Security Medical Inspectors (SIMEDISS) again criticized the collapse of the medical leave system in Spain. The union organization states that the management policy of the General Directorate of the INSS regarding the control of Temporary Disability (IT) and Permanent Disability (IP) "accredited its failure".
According to SIMEDISS, in most of the Spanish territory, patients are being evaluated for the first time already exceeding the established legal limits. The union reports that delays exceed 770 days, considering them "the highest figures in history" in terms of delays in the system.
The union of medical inspectors thus warned again about the critical situation facing the disability system, where waiting times for a first evaluation of patients significantly exceed what would be legally permissible.
