The 4th edition of the 2 Léguas Eurocity Tui–Valença Race will take place on October 25, returning to bring athletics to the streets of the two border cities. Organised by the Verdoejense Sports Association, the event aims to strengthen the ties between Tui and Valença through sport, fellowship and cross-border cooperation.
The start and finish will be located on Avenida da Liberdade, in Valença, and the 10-kilometre course crosses the old international bridge over the River Minho, taking athletes to Tui before returning to Valença. The main race start is scheduled for 11:15 AM, Spanish time.
This year's edition again features two godmothers who are reference figures in Iberian athletics: Julia Vaquero and Manuela Machado, who represent values such as effort, perseverance, companionship and passion for sport. The sporting programme also includes events for young people, such as the Léguazinha for children aged 7 to 11, covering 500 metres, and the Mini Légua for youths aged 12 to 17, covering 1500 metres.
Registrations for the main race and children's races are already open through the official website of the organisation. With four editions, the 2 Léguas Eurocity Tui–Valença Race aims to establish itself as one of the reference sporting events of the Eurocity, promoting the connection between the two territories through athletics.
