Javier and Penélope in Venice are a married couple put to the test

Observador9 September 2026 at 09:12

The film "Bunker", directed by Florian Zeller, was presented in Venice with Javier and Penélope in the main cast. The Spanish duo plays a couple whose relationship is in the process of dissolution, portraying a marriage put to the test throughout the narrative.

Casey Affleck appears at this film festival with a performance that takes him into supernatural territory, thus exploring a different register from his usual filmography.

May el-Toukhy also presents compelling work at the Venice festival, with a film set in Denmark during the period following World War II.

The article thus addresses three distinct productions that marked the Venetian festival's lineup, each with different narrative and geographical approaches.
