Debt avalanche threatens to generate new market turbulence

The US bond market is at the center of all attention this week. A debt avalanche threatens to generate new turbulence in the financial markets.

Today there is a significant issuance of corporate and sovereign debt. Adding to this is the buyback of US Treasury securities, the so-called "Treasuries," by the United States Treasury at a larger volume.

This combination of factors is raising concerns among investors, given the high volume of debt entering the market in a short period of time.
