ERS applied over 450 thousand euros in fines to health entities in the first half of the year

The Health Regulatory Authority applied over 454 thousand euros in fines to health entities during the first half of the year. This value represents the total of sanctions applied by the regulator during this period.

Of the total amount, 367 thousand euros corresponded specifically to pecuniary sanctions, that is, fines properly speaking. The data has now been made public.

ERS is the entity responsible for the regulation and supervision of the health sector in Portugal, having the authority to apply sanctions to establishments and entities that violate the legislation in force.

The fines aim to penalize infractions committed by health entities, which can include everything from private clinics to other healthcare providers under the regulator's jurisdiction.
