The Central Bank is studying new rules that may change the remuneration criteria for investment platforms in the offering of assets protected by the Credit Guarantee Fund (FGC). The objective of these changes is to create greater alignment between the remuneration of these platforms and the gains effectively obtained by clients.
The measure is part of a broader reform being carried out to try to curb business models that are excessively based on fundraising through assets guaranteed by the FGC.
The Central Bank specifically seeks to combat practices like those of Banco Master, an institution that was liquidated in November 2025. The bank's business model was heavily based on fundraising via assets protected by the FGC.
This practice by Banco Master generated losses of approximately R$ 50 billion to the Credit Guarantee Fund, highlighting the risks that previous rules allowed.
