Caxias will have a free dance performance at Sesi

extra9 September 2026 at 08:00

The Sesi Theater in Duque de Caxias, in the Baixada Fluminense region, will host on this Friday (day 11), at 8 PM, the premiere of the dance show "Outros futuros" (Other Futures). The presentation is free and features seven young dancers from the Cia Jovem Ballet Manguinhos.

The work is directed and choreographed by Ester Machado, who uses the memories, experiences, and desires of young women from peripheral areas as a starting point to build a territory of fabulation through dance.

The show exists in a hybrid zone between contemporary dance and theater, with the body as the main form of artistic expression. The dramaturgy is constructed through movements, gestures, images, sounds, lights, and the relationship between the dancers, presenting a non-linear journey.
