The São João Theatre, in Porto, presents a new production titled "Maiúscula", which premieres this Wednesday. It is a monologue performed exclusively by Luísa Cruz, who takes to the stage alone and "arm in arm with fear," according to the play's description.
The production establishes a connection with the Greek tragedy "Medea," by Euripides, presenting echoes of this classic work in its conception. The text is authored by Jacinto Lucas Pires, who signs the dramaturgy of this production.
After its premiere in Porto, the play will go on tour, which will allow it to be taken to other stages beyond the São João Theatre. This itinerancy demonstrates the project's ambition to reach a wider audience.
