Authorities responsible for wildlife in the Rocky Mountain region in the United States are experiencing more problems than usual between black bears and people this summer. Millions of people live in or near bear habitat, but the region is going through a period of widespread drought.
The drought has significantly reduced the natural resources that bears feed on, such as nuts, berries, and plants. This is causing the animals to travel increasingly vast areas in search of food, getting closer and closer to urban and inhabited zones.
According to ABC News, one of the reported situations involved Patrick Sullivan. He recounted that around 3 in the morning, he heard a noise in his vehicle, later discovering that a bear had entered his car to search for food.
