Iranian oil tanker attacked by the USA off Kharg island

An Iranian oil tanker was attacked by the United States off Kharg island, in the Persian Gulf. Explosions were heard in the region and in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.

The attack occurred shortly after Iran had threatened to attack American bases in the region again, if its tankers continued to be targeted.

The Public Prosecutor's Office accuses them of creating fictitious firefighting teams, damaging the National Authority for Emergency and Civil Protection by approximately 120,000 euros. The funds were allegedly paid improperly for forged teams that never existed or did not provide the claimed service.

Man convicted of killing Core special operations police officer and attempted robbery against judge sentenced to 39 years in prison

Walace Andrade de Oliveira was sentenced to 39 years and four months in prison by the 17th Criminal Court of the Capital. He was identified as one of the perpetrators of the shooting death of Civil Police officer João Pedro Marquini Santana from the Special Resources Coordination (Core) and of the attempted robbery against his wife, Judge Tula Corrêa de Mello, who survived the attack. The crime occurred on March 30, 2025, when criminals set up a fake checkpoint on Grota Funda Road in Vargem Grande, in the Southwest Zone of Rio. The couple was returning home in separate cars, and the police officer was killed by rifle fire while driving ahead.
