The elderly man was trying to push the vehicle, ending up being crushed by his own car. The accident occurred in the area of the village of Joane and resulted in death at the scene. The authorities were alerted to the incident, which involved only one fatal victim, with no other known injuries.

Olhão case: GNR ruled out hit-and-run in case of police officers accused of killing immigrant

Two PSP officers from Olhão began standing trial at the Faro Court for aggravated kidnapping and qualified homicide of a Moroccan immigrant. From the outset, the GNR ruled out the hit-and-run hypothesis, having alerted the Judicial Police after experts concluded that the bloodstains at the scene were not compatible with a traffic accident. The police officers deny responsibility, claiming they transported the two men to Pechão peacefully.
