The Eiffel Tower, one of the most visited monuments in France and probably in the world, found itself involved in an unpleasant controversy in recent hours. The monument's organization received a petition to exclude female workers during the private visit of a Hindu religious group. The group belongs to the Bochasanwasi Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) organization, which is close to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This situation generated indignation, especially considering that the names of 72 female scientists will soon be engraved on the Eiffel Tower's facade as a tribute to their legacy.
