The 50 fastest-growing tech companies in Portugal are the subject of a new episode of the Expresso podcast "Economia dia a dia" (Daily Economy), hosted by Juliana Simões. These companies stand out for growing, exporting, and creating jobs in the country. However, a relevant finding is that they remain highly concentrated geographically, mainly in the cities of Lisbon and Porto. Lisbon Port breaks records in cruise activity in August

The Port of Lisbon achieved in August 2026 its best month ever in cruise activity, with 86,322 passengers, a 23% growth compared to the previous year, and 33 calls, 32% more than in August 2025. The turnaround segment, which includes embarkation and disembarkation, more than doubled, with 24,633 movements, already representing 28.5% of total traffic. In the year-to-date, between January and August, the port recorded 220 calls and 448,037 passengers, consolidating Lisbon as one of the main international cruise destinations.
