Forget coffee: Corial just turned pumpkin spice into a creatine bar

SAPO Notícias8 September 2026 at 18:04

The Portuguese brand Corial launched a pumpkin spice flavored creatine bar, one of the flavors most associated with autumn. It is a limited edition that combines pumpkin and cinnamon with dates, almonds, oats, and walnuts. The product is made in Esposende, where the company is based.

The novelty positions itself as an alternative to traditional coffee, as the news headline suggests. Corial bet on a popular seasonal flavor to reach new consumers in the dietary supplements market.

This is not the first time the brand has created limited editions with distinct flavors. The strategy aims to capture consumers' attention through innovative proposals that deviate from traditional creatine formats, such as powders or capsules.

Gas price in Europe hits three-year highs due to Middle East conflict

Natural gas prices on the European market reached their highest level since January 2023 this Tuesday, exceeding 76 euros per megawatt-hour, a rise of more than 4% driven by the Middle East conflict. Gas has appreciated more than 140% in Europe since the beginning of the attacks between the United States and Iran, at the end of February. The concern also relates to the possible risk of toll charges for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's main routes for gas and oil transport, which led the United Arab Emirates to state that this constitutes a "red line". In parallel, the price of a barrel of Brent approached 100 dollars. The rise in energy prices increases inflationary pressure, which could lead the European Central Bank to raise interest rates again at its meeting on Thursday. The European Commission stated that, despite gas storage levels being lower than in previous years, there is currently no immediate risk to supply in the EU.

The value of the transaction was not officially disclosed, although the Jornal Económico reported that the contract sent to the Court of Auditors indicated a value of 380 million euros. Have a broken appliance? New EU rules will make repairs easier and may extend the warranty

The European Union has approved new Right to Repair rules to make it easier and cheaper to fix appliances such as refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and toasters. Manufacturers will be required to design appliances that are easier to disassemble and repair, favouring screws over glue and limiting software blocks. Spare parts and technical manuals will have to be available for up to ten years after sale. Consumers who choose repair instead of replacement during the warranty period may also benefit from an additional 12-month extension. The EU aims to reduce the waste of millions of tonnes of annual waste and the costs borne by families with faulty equipment.
