The Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport Control Tower, in Porto, reached a new maximum of 442 controlled movements in the Terminal Control Area, surpassing the previous record of 426 movements. The new maximum was achieved on both June 22 and June 29, having been announced by NAV – Aeroportos e Navegação Aérea on September 8.
These movements include flights arriving and departing from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, as well as traffic crossing the airspace controlled by Porto's Tower. Managing this space requires permanent coordination between different aircraft, routes, altitudes, and phases of flight, ensuring an orderly and safe flow, even during peak periods.
NAV – Aeroportos e Navegação Aérea highlighted that this result reflects the professionalism, rigor, and coordination capacity of its teams, who daily ensure the safe and efficient management of infrastructure and air traffic in the Porto region.
