Insurer HDI Global UK & Ireland obtained Lloyd's in-principle approval to create syndicate 2029, the company announced in a statement. The new syndicate will be managed in partnership with insurance services provider PoloWorks, responsible for providing the technical infrastructure and operational support necessary in the Lloyd's ecosystem.
The operation is part of the company's global expansion strategic plan called Xcelerate29. Despite the initial approval from the London market, the commencement of underwriting operations and risk acceptance remain subject to completion of regulatory procedures and final authorizations expected in the coming months.
Entry onto the Lloyd's platform allows the German-founded insurer to diversify its corporate and specialty insurance offerings, using Lloyd's global presence and distribution capacity to capture new business in high-profile risk markets.
Simon Hunt, CEO of HDI Global UK & Ireland, stated that the approval reflects the soundness of the company's strategy and long-term commitment to the market, enabling it to offer greater diversity of options to clients and brokers, expand reach, and create new opportunities for sustainable growth.
